Who we are - Our Core Values
MCCC Core Values are…
We Are A Church Revolving On Christ – Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God”. We believe that, rather than making Jesus part of a “to do” list that we can check off when we accomplish a task, that we make Jesus the core from which everything in our lives and ministry radiates. Jesus affects our vision for the world. Jesus affects our inter-relationship as Christians. Jesus affects our families, marriages and wealth. Jesus is the center of our lives and we rotate around Him.
We Are A Church Reliant On Scripture – The Bible is more than a history book filled with stories. We believe the Bible informs our living and relevantly addresses every area of human life. Even those who do not know Jesus could apply the principles of Scripture to their lives (and often do so without knowing it!) and experience a fuller and richer life. We believe the Bible is the ultimate authority and speaks truthfully to life and practice and is the ultimate reality measure.
We Are A Church Redeemed By Grace – None of us is perfect and all of us know it! We are not satisfactory to God on our own but can only be made satisfactory and pleasing to God through what Jesus did on the cross, offered to each of us freely without pre-condition or qualification. We will take Jesus to where people are in expectation of where Jesus will take them afterward.
We Are A Church Rejoicing In Community – While our walk with Jesus is personal it is far from private. God made us to enjoy Him and to enjoy other people. We live to worship God and enjoy His company. We live life with others who know the same relationship and we love the journey that God has put us on together, and we live out God’s love to the world that He love,s showing and sharing what God has given us with those who need Jesus and can be made better by us.
We Are A Church Resolved To Grow – Life with Jesus is not a destination, it’s a journey. God likes to call it a walk – slow, relaxed, enjoyable, and conversational. The longer we walk with God the more we know about Him and the more He tells us about Himself.
We Are A Church Reaching Others – When we reduce Jesus commands to the most important ones they condense to Love God and Love our Neighbors. Jesus advanced that last commandment when he directed us to “go into the world and make disciples.” There really is nothing more loving that we can do then to meet people where they are and allow Jesus to change their lives. We do that by communicating the powerful salvation from sin that Jesus gives so freely to anyone who will call on him for that gift of salvation. It is our responsibility to share it.
