Measuring the Life of John

“The disciples of John reported all these things to him. And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”” (Luke 7:18–19, ESV)

John: For He And His Disciples. Was The Investment Worth It? 

“calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”” (Luke 7:19, ESV)  

It’s not for John. He knew what his calling was and who Jesus is. 

John: For The Crowd. Was The Impression Sincere? 

~The Rhetorical questions lead to John’s Authority. 

~But that Authority was directed to Jesus! 

“(When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just, having been baptized with the baptism of John,” (Luke 7:29, ESV)  

John: For the follower of Jesus. Will the Invitation find Acceptance? 

““To what then shall I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?” (Luke 7:31, ESV)  

Questions: 

1.  What are some of the positive benefits that Christianity has brought to the world? 

2.  How open do you think your friends and relatives are to spiritual things? To the things of Christ?  

3.  What do you see as your mission as Christ’s ambassador in this world?
